What to do when you get this prompt when installing trisquel on a canoebooted or gnubooted machine.

I figured this would be a good heads-up to anyone trying to install trisquel mini on a canoebooted machine. You have to enter "install" in order to get to the installer. The install is kinda cursed because it does not load lxde, but instead opens windows on a black background. It works though. I do not know why this happens though, I am supposing that it has to do something with the VGA.

I don't have those computers with me now, but I recall that when pressing some key (F1, Enter, Escape, not sure which one) I had something offering help and before I could read it all it was booting on the USB key as if I had selected "Try without installing", then I could use the install icon.

Will further check when I am back home next week-end.

Yup this keeps happening. Some live USBs like Parabola need to be entered via the Seabios menu some via grub such as the GNU Guix System. Anyway, there will be a prompt at it type,

live

#then type

boot

Hoorah!

So I just installed trisquel-mini on my Thinkpad T420 and if I waited for the main grub libreboot screen it booted fine. I think you should do that and select USB rather than go from SeaBios.

I tried to do that, but it will only load the main disk, which has another OS. The only way to boot another disk on my canoebooted R500, is to hit escape, which gives me boot options in seabios, and choose my disk that I want to boot and enter that number.
